Ummo collects nothing. Not some things. Nothing. The app contains no networking code at all, so there is no server to send anything to, even by accident.
All of it stays on the device. None of it is backed up to us, because there is no us to back it up to.
Audio. Ummo never writes a recording to disk. While a session is running, the microphone feeds Apple's on-device speech recogniser and the sound is discarded as it is turned into text. There is no setting to keep recordings, because there is nothing to keep.
Ummo asks for the microphone and for speech recognition the first time you start a session. The microphone is used only while a session is recording, and never in the background otherwise. Speech recognition runs on the iPhone itself: on-device recognition is explicitly required in the code, so the audio cannot be sent to Apple's servers.
The coach note is written by Apple Intelligence, which also runs on your iPhone. The transcript and the numbers are handed to the on-device model and the note comes back from it. Neither step involves Ummo sending anything anywhere. On a phone without Apple Intelligence the coach note is simply absent; everything else works.
Data Not Collected. That is a description of the code, not a promise about it.
Settings has Delete everything, which removes every session and resets your settings. Deleting the app removes the same data.
Ummo is rated 4+ and collects nothing from anyone, at any age.
