Talk for a minute. Ummo counts your fillers, your pace and your pauses as you go, then shows you where they landed. All on your iPhone.
Coming to the App StoreiPhone, iOS 26
Or answer one of 36 practice prompts: an interview question, a pitch, a toast, something to explain, a story, small talk. Or read a short passage aloud.
Fillers, pace in words a minute and pauses, live. Every um and uh is marked in the transcript the moment it happens.
A score out of 100, the three numbers, a pace-by-minute chart and plain-English notes on what the numbers say.
With Apple Intelligence, a short coach note: three specific tips and one of your own sentences, said better.
Ummo contains no URLSession, no analytics and no third-party SDK. There is nowhere for your words to go.
Your voice becomes text on the iPhone itself, with on-device recognition required, never optional.
Apple Intelligence writes the coach note on the device. Nothing is uploaded to write it.
Ummo never stores a recording. Only the transcript and the numbers are saved, and only on your iPhone.
Fillers per minute over two weeks, this week against last, and the crutch words you lean on.
A Home Screen and Lock Screen widget, a Control Centre control and the Action Button all start a session.
A Live Activity shows the timer, filler count, pace and Stop, so you can lock the screen and keep talking.
No sign-in, no subscription, no in-app purchases. Open it and talk.
Um, uh, ah, er, erm and hmm, in their common spellings. Crutch words such as like, basically and you know are counted separately, and you can edit that list in Settings.
Plain arithmetic over the timed words: fillers a minute, crutch words a minute, pace against the band you chose, and any pause over three seconds. No model decides your score, so the same talk always gets the same number.
Only for the coach note. Counting, scoring, the chart, the notes and Progress work on any iPhone running iOS 26. The coach note needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later with Apple Intelligence switched on.
No. Audio is discarded as it is transcribed. The transcript and the numbers stay in Ummo on your iPhone, and Settings has Delete everything.
